If you are looking for a wild, over-the-top zombie survival experience to add to your library of PC games, Dead Rising 4 is a fantastically chaotic choice. Stepping away from the serious tone of many modern survival titles, this game brings back the pure fun of smashing through the undead with ridiculous makeshift weapons. It perfectly captures a holiday-themed mayhem, offering a relaxed, sandbox-style approach where you can take your time exploring the map and trying out weird combat combos without the stress of a ticking clock.
Storyline
You step back into the shoes of the iconic photojournalist Frank West, who is reluctantly dragged back to Willamette, Colorado, during the winter holidays. A new, highly aggressive strain of the zombie virus has turned the sprawling Willamette Memorial Megaplex into a slaughterhouse. Frank must investigate a sinister paramilitary group called Obscuris and uncover the dark conspiracy behind this new outbreak. Armed with his trusty camera, Frank documents the horror, searches for clues, and takes a few selfies—all while delivering his signature sarcastic commentary on the absurd madness around him.
Gaming experience
Playing Dead Rising 4 is all about embracing absolute freedom and absurdity. Because the game ditches the strict timer mechanics of previous entries, you can freely roam the open world to craft insane combo weapons—like a sledgehammer rigged with grenades or a fire-breathing dinosaur mask. The addition of EXO Suits takes the combat to a whole new level, letting you literally rip parking meters out of the concrete to swing at enemies. It is a visually spectacular loop of finding blueprints, wearing wacky outfits, and clearing out safe houses. The sheer joy of effortlessly tearing through thousands of zombies makes it an incredibly satisfying ride.
