If you are digging through the history of PC games, you really cannot skip Duke Nukem Forever. After spending way too many years in development hell, the cigar-chomping action hero finally made his big comeback. This title supports a wildly over-the-top vibe that can easily make you laugh out loud with its cheesy one-liners and ridiculous weapons. It is an exciting blast from the past for anyone who grew up with 90s shooters and just wants to blow things up without thinking too hard. You get to step into the boots of the ultimate macho man and save the world from a messy alien invasion.

Storyline

The storyline of this game kicks off twelve years after Duke saved Earth, and he is basically living like a king in his own massive casino. Everything seems totally fine at first, but after that, the storyline begins to spiral out of control when the alien bastards suddenly return to ruin his vacation and steal Earth's women. You have to grab your shotgun, fight through heavily mutated pig cops, and kick the alien emperor's butt to get your glorious life back. It is a completely absurd narrative filled with crude humor and action movie cliches that keeps things light and entertaining.

Gaming experience.

When it comes to actually playing, running around and shrinking enemies into tiny bugs is incredibly fun. You will spend your time tossing pipe bombs, driving monster trucks, and interacting with almost everything in the environment, from drawing on whiteboards to lifting weights. It does not try to be a super serious tactical shooter; you just have to run and gun. Stomping on a frozen alien supports a really satisfying gameplay loop that can keep you entertained for hours. It stands out among other action PC games because it just fully embraces its own silliness. Just grab your mouse, load up your ripper chaingun, and go kick some alien tail.
