If you are constantly on the lookout for wildly addictive roguelikes to add to your library of PC games, God Of Weapons is an absolute must-play. I decided to put together this article because this indie gem managed to steal way too many hours of my weekend. Combining the chaotic, screen-clearing action of games like Vampire Survivors with the highly satisfying inventory management of Resident Evil 4, this title hits a very specific sweet spot. It is the perfect game for anyone who just wants to kick back, hoard an absurd amount of loot, and blast through hordes of monsters without sitting through bloated tutorials.
Storyline
Let's be completely honest, you do not usually dive into this genre for a deep, cinematic plot, but the setup here gives you just enough motivation to start swinging. The world has been overrun by endless waves of twisted monsters and demonic forces pouring out of a massive, dark tower. Your mission is straightforward: climb the floors of this dreaded tower, survive the brutal onslaught, and ultimately reclaim the legendary light to save your realm. Along the way, you unlock and play as a variety of unique classes, each bringing their own distinct traits and starting gear to help you conquer the evil waiting on every floor.
Gaming experience
The actual gameplay loop is where God Of Weapons truly outshines many other casual PC games. Every time you clear a floor, you are thrown into a highly addictive game of Tetris with your inventory grid. You have to constantly rotate and rearrange weapons, armor, and magical accessories to fit into a limited backpack space while trying to create the most overpowered build possible. It starts off easy, but by the later levels, you are frantically shifting swords and rings around just to squeeze out one final stat boost. The combat is fast-paced and the build variety is massive, making it incredibly easy to just keep muttering "one more run" until the sun comes up.
