If you are looking for a fun, colorful Action RPG that doesn't take itself too seriously, Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters is absolutely worth adding to your backlog. Standing out among current PC Games, this entry shifts the spotlight from the usual main Goddesses to their younger siblings, giving the franchise a fresh burst of energy. It offers an awesome mix of hack-and-slash combat, hilarious meta-humor about the real-world gaming industry, and a charming cast of characters. Whether you are a longtime fan of the series or just looking for a lighthearted Japanese RPG to relax with after a long day, this title delivers a vibrant, engaging world that is incredibly easy to get sucked into.

Storyline

The plot kicks off when Nepgear and the other younger sisters wake up from a mysterious two-year slumber, only to find their world of Gamindustri completely turned upside down. While their older sisters were away investigating the distant PC Continent, a massive monster outbreak known as the Trendi Phenomenon ravaged their homeland. To make matters worse, citizens are now totally obsessed with a new smartphone called the "rPhone," causing everyone's faith in the Goddesses to plummet. You have to guide the girls as they fight to reclaim their popularity, figure out what happened to their missing siblings, and save their nations in a story that constantly pokes fun at modern technology trends.

Gaming Experience

When it comes to the actual gameplay, the combat takes a massive step away from traditional turn-based battles into fast-paced, real-time action. You control a party of three, actively chaining together custom combos and managing your action points while your AI teammates back you up. The best part is being able to seamlessly swap between characters mid-fight to extend your attacks and deal massive damage. Outside of hacking and slashing, you will spend your time exploring dungeons, crafting stat-boosting discs, and taking on side quests from a fictional in-game social network. It is a flashy, super satisfying gameplay loop that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
