If you and your friends are always on the lookout for hilarious yet terrifying co-op PC games, The Headliners needs to be your next download. The gaming scene is packed with heavy shooters where you fight off alien invasions, but this indie hit takes a totally different route. Instead of giving you a massive gun and armor, it hands you a camera, a flimsy flashlight, and tells you to get out there and take some pictures. It’s a chaotic, wildly entertaining mix of survival horror and pure comedy that feels incredibly fresh, easily earning a spot as one of the most entertaining multiplayer titles on the market right now.

Storyline

The premise is straightforward but absolutely brilliant. New York City is completely overrun by mysterious, deadly alien creatures, ranging from creepy stalkers to massive, city-destroying kaijus. Instead of playing as highly trained military operatives trying to save the world, you and your squad step into the shoes of incredibly reckless photojournalists. You aren't there to stop the apocalypse; you are just there to get the perfect shot for the front page. Your boss drops you into the danger zone to capture the chaos and survive long enough to actually read the morning paper. It is a crazy hustle for views where getting a picture of your buddy getting eaten might just be your ticket to a promotion.

Gaming Experience

When it comes to the actual gaming experience, it plays out a lot like Lethal Company or Content Warning, but with its own stressful twist. Every match gives you a strict timer to jump out of the rescue helicopter, scramble through the ruined streets, and snap as many terrifying photos as possible. You have to carefully manage your camera film and dodge giant monsters while praying your friends don't leave you behind. The in-game scoring system judges your photos at the end of the run, forcing you to constantly take bigger risks to meet your quota and upgrade your gear. It is a laugh-out-loud, frantic loop that makes it one of the most addictive PC games to play with a squad late at night.
