If you are tired of the usual survival games where you just build a wooden shack and hope for the best, Volcanoids is going to blow you away. This steampunk gem completely flips the script on traditional PC games by giving you a giant, customizable drillship as your mobile base. Instead of staying glued to one spot, you are constantly on the move, scavenging for resources and diving deep underground to escape sudden, cataclysmic volcanic eruptions. It is a brilliant mix of base-building, first-person shooting, and chaotic survival that keeps you on your toes and makes it a fantastic addition to your gaming library.
Storyline
The plot drops you onto a beautiful island that has been completely ruined by a massive, mechanically manipulated volcano. Your main mission is to reclaim your homeland from a race of hostile, steampunk robots called Cogs, who are intentionally triggering eruptions to harvest the earth's raw energy. To fight back, you have to hijack one of their massive drillships and turn it into your own weaponized fortress. As you explore the island and rescue vital technology, you gradually uncover the mystery behind the mechanical threat, working your way toward silencing the volcano once and for all.
