Storyline
The plot drops you right into the stunning, fractured world of Eurian, a planet made entirely of floating islands suspended in the sky. You step into the boots of Esen, a seasoned soldier who is actively fighting against a ruthless faction known as the Coalition. They are trying to hoard the world's precious energy source, and it is entirely up to you and your trusty jetpack to stop them from taking over completely. It is a pretty classic tale of a lone rebel fighting back against a massive, corrupt empire, but the unique aerial setting makes the whole resistance narrative feel a lot more exciting and cinematic.

When it comes to the gaming experience, this title is all about fast-paced movement and keeping your momentum going. Compared to other heavy, grounded PC games, Windfolk feels super arcadey, breezy, and light. You are constantly boosting through the air, managing your flight speed, and swapping between different energy weapons to take down waves of flying enemies and drones. The combat can definitely get a little chaotic when you are trying to aim while hovering at high speeds, but once you finally get the hang of the controls, pulling off slick mid-air barrel rolls while shooting down bad guys feels incredibly satisfying.
