Storyline
The setup is brilliantly chaotic. You step into the shoes of the Administrator of the Tiqqun, a massive, rotating space station that was supposed to be humanity's shining ark to find a new home. Unfortunately, things go horribly wrong right out of the gate, the moon is shattered, Earth gets wrecked, and suddenly you are literally holding the last remnants of the human race together. You have to jump across dangerous solar systems, salvage whatever scrap you can find, and make some incredibly tough choices while the crew constantly watches your every move. It feels exactly like playing through a gritty sci-fi movie.
Gaming Experience
This is where IXION really shines, though it demands constant plate-spinning. You are constantly balancing the station's hull integrity, managing extremely limited resources, and trying to keep your stressed-out crew from starting a mutiny. The coolest mechanic is how you physically manage the station's interior across different unlocked sectors, moving resources around like a giant logistical puzzle. Sure, it can be punishing when things spiral out of control, but out of all the survival PC games out there, figuring out how to perfectly balance trust, power, and food on the Tiqqun gives you an unmatched sense of accomplishment.
