If you are absolutely obsessed with strategy roguelikes and looking for your next addiction to add to your library of PC Games, Slice & Dice is a brilliant hidden gem you need to play right now. Ditching massive open worlds and complex skill trees, this indie title strips tactical combat down to its absolute, purest form: rolling dice. It is incredibly easy to pick up, but the massive strategic depth hidden beneath its charmingly simple retro graphics will have you glued to your monitor for hours. Whether you have just twenty minutes to kill or want to accidentally lose an entire evening to the classic "just one more run" mindset, it is the perfect, bite-sized tactical puzzle.

Storyline

To be completely honest, Slice & Dice doesn't bog you down with long cutscenes or a super complicated narrative. The premise is as delightfully old-school as it gets: you take control of a ragtag party of five classic fantasy heroes—ranging from sturdy warriors to squishy mages—and guide them through twenty brutal levels to save the realm. Your only real goal is to survive waves of increasingly nasty monsters, culminating in a deeply challenging showdown against a massive final boss. It is a wonderfully stripped-down tabletop adventure, letting your own close calls, massive failures, and epic final blows create the actual story as you fight to keep your party alive.

Gaming experience

Playing this game is dangerously addictive and incredibly satisfying. The core gameplay loops around literally rolling the dice for each of your five heroes. Every face of the die represents a specific action, like dealing physical damage, casting magic shields, or healing up. If you don't like your initial roll, you get a couple of rerolls to try and lock in the perfect combo to outsmart the enemy. As you survive each fight, you get to evolve your characters into entirely new, overpowered classes and equip crazy loot that physically alters your dice sides. It easily stands out among other strategy PC Games because the wild randomness of the dice keeps every single run feeling fresh, tense, and completely unpredictable.
