If you want to laugh until your sides hurt, South Park: The Fractured But Whole Gold Edition is an absolute must-play. This game completely nails the show's unhinged humor while actually delivering a surprisingly solid RPG underneath all the crazy jokes. When you're browsing for new PC games to kill some time, this one stands out because it packs the base game plus all the wild DLCs—like "From Dusk Till Casa Bonita"—into one massive bundle. It is basically like playing through a ridiculously long, interactive episode of the TV show, making it a total steal for fans of the franchise looking for a good time.
Storyline
The kids have ditched the fantasy swords and magic from the first game and gone full superhero mode. You are once again playing as the mysterious "New Kid," caught right in the middle of a petty neighborhood civil war over superhero movie franchise rights. Cartman’s "Coon and Friends" are beefing with a rival group, and it is your job to navigate the crime-filled streets of South Park to build your brand. Expect plenty of insane plot twists, wild conspiracies, and fighting mutant middle-schoolers as the neighborhood turf war gets progressively more out of hand.
Gaming experience.
As for the gameplay, it is actually a surprisingly deep tactical RPG. Unlike a lot of other role-playing PC games, the combat here uses a grid system, so you really have to think about your positioning and attack ranges before making a move. You can mix and match crazy superpowers from different classes, but the real game-changer is your character's bizarre ability to bend space and time using flatulence. Ripping a time-altering fart to literally skip an enemy's turn is both tactically brilliant and endlessly funny, making every single fight an absolute blast from start to finish.
